The charm of autumn

For years I had been planning to do an autum photoshooting but for a long time this idea was only one of hundreds of notes in my little black book.

Some weeks ago Maria S. Varela asked me to do a shooting in a public park in Munich wearing her beautiful hair flowers again. November in Southern Germany was warm and romantic, and the sun was giving us some wonderful warm light, creating amazing effects in the colorful trees at Nymphenburg Castle.

Once again, the wonderful styling was made by Meli from Passion – MakeUpArt.
It went perfectly with both my new hairstyle and the theme of the shooting.
I always love to work with Meli. I’ve never met any make-up artist doing such creative work like hers.

Portrait of a showgirl 2

It’s already winter and I have so much to talk about, so many new projects…

For me it was about time for a makeover and I really needed a new hairstyle.
After being a platinum blonde girl for more than 5 years you are not smiling anymore to the person you see in the mirrow.
On stage and for photoshootings I’m planing to use wigs now because my new look is way to modern for my burlesque alter ego.

But the reason I am writing this blog entry is the mail I got.
Sarah Tröster send me the last pictures we took at our shoot a few weeks ago.
I really like that she shows a different style for nearly every pic.

Have a look:

More news soon!

Portrait of a showgirl – Lili and Sarah Tröster

My time off during summer is over and now I’m back with some new and interesting projects!

As you already know I am really fascinated by 1930s and 1940s showgirls and burlesque artists, by the way they performed and their sophisticated costumes. My favorite ones are the amazing Tempest Storm and Lili St. Cyr.

The first project is already done – a photoshooting inspired by  these showgirls with some of my new costumes.
I was really excited and I spent hours researching and leafing through many illustrated books.

For this photoshooting I worked with Stuttgart based photographer Sarah Tröster and the talented make-up artist Melanie Dietsch from Passion – MakeUpArt.

Melanie helped me to bring some of my requisites from my home to the studio, I’m afraid it was really funny to see us both stuffing chairs, costumes, a grammophone and many suitcases into Melanies little car while it was raining like hell.
But Sarah helped me to feel warm again. She wanted me to jump in front of the studio flash unit again and again to get a picture with me in motion. As you can see, we were successful!

Sadly, we had no time for a making of video (we’ll shoot one the next time, I promise :) ) but we have some great pics! Yayy!

Here are the first ones:

More will follow soon!

Lili and Fatma Yueksel

It is not so long since I had my birthday and I got a wonderful gift – the Lyssandra Swimsuit from Agent Provocateur.
You can´t imagine, how happy I was!

And for sure I dont want to wear this gem only while swimming or turning guys heads ;)
So I was very happy to receive a message from the young and talented, Stuttgart based photographer Fatma Yueksel.
I already saw and loved her portfolio and I really looked forward to our 1st photoshooting.

Fatma booked TG-Looks for doing Make Up and Hair, she did a really great job.

At the moment I don´t have the  chance to shoot making of videos.
So you only get some making of pictures.
And yes, its me without make up at one of this pictures.

I’m less experienced in fashion poses, you know, I’m more into pin up and burlesque.
Anyway, I am very interested in other kinds of modeling, I always want to extend my knowledge.

But Fatma gave me some help with instructions and suggestions and so we had some really nice and funny hours while working together.

So here are our first results – what do you think?

New pictures! Yayy!

Bridal party!

I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance,
A church filled with family and friends.
I asked him what kind of a wedding he wished for,
He said one that would make me his wife.

More tips’n’tricks for pin up models – professional edition

Thanks a lot, girls, for this overwhelming interest in my tips´n´tricks for pin up models!
I was really impressed when I saw the numbers of page views.

Some of you also asked for more advice and so I wrote a part two.
These instructions are for models (and photographers) who already have some experience with pin up modeling and who want to go further into this question.

Remember advice No. 1?

I spoke about how to get inspired.
Let´s say, you´ve found a wonderful idea.
But…it´s nothing really new. For sure you can not reinvent the wheel.
So be smart and think about how to make this idea special and unique.
Maybe you can choose a startling outfit, some unique accessories or a special location?
You have so many options!

Remember advice No. 2?

You are beautiful.
And you are ready to show it.
So please remember this: do it with style. Be elegant.
There´s no need to behave like a bull in a china shop.
Even a damsel in distress acts gracefully.

Remember advice No. 3?

You’ve chosen a theme. A decade. A picture idea.
You have a charming outfit.
Now: Please make sure that
every piece of your outfit, even the earrings, should fit the theme.

Remember advice No. 5?

You already feel confident about posing in front of the camera.
But there are still some tricks you can take to your heart.
It always looks more sexy when your legs and arms are not pointed to the camera. Find symmetry in your posing. Make sure, that hands and feet are in an attractive position.
Make pretty hands. Stretch out your toes. Always.

Remember advice No. 6?

The facial expression, right.
Very often I see pictures with girls doing a grimace.
Sometimes when they play a damsel in distress.
Sometimes when they just do a pose.
Is this really necessary?

Remember advice No. 7?

We spoke about a special pose. Let’s think ahead.
In a good picture you want to tell a story. So let´s see.
You want to be in the role of a sexy housewife?
Make sure that your picture makes sense.
Make sure that everything you are showing has a reason.
It´s not nice to look at a picture and have to think “Wtf”…
If you are in the bathtub, why is there a flat iron next to it? You understand?

Now you have some new things to practice.

Every beginning is hard and you also can see how someone’s collecting experience and the learning progress in my modeling portfolio.

The most important rule I have to tell you at the end: Just have fun!

“Pin me up, Honey!” – 10 tips’n'tricks for pin up models

As you already know, I have been working as a pin up girl for many years.

It´s my passion.
I´ve learned so much over the last years and I am still learning.

When your experience grows, more and more tricks and hints will reveal themselves to you.
You are collecting many useful “how-to’s” and “no-go’s”.
I want to share this precious wisdom.

Maybe you want to do a pin up shooting?
Maybe you´ve already started with pin up modeling and want to know how to get better?
Maybe you are just curious?
Here are my 10 ‘how-to’s” and “no-go’s”!

1I have no idea…“

The whole pin up thing is not limited to one decade.
It´s not all about the fifties – the history of pin up girls is long and colorful.
Start researching. Look at old and new magazines. Get inspired.
How do you feel most sexy? Use this thought.
Don’t be a copycat but believe in your own creativity instead.

2„My botty is too big / small, my boobies, too!“

That’s rubbish.
Celebrate your femaleness!
You are sexy! You are beautiful!
And now: show it to the rest of the world!
But this is not the permission to be undisciplined. Take care for what is given to you, Honey!

3„The Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini“

Polka dotted clothes alone won’t bring a pin up girl into being.
You need much more, starting with with charisma.
You don´t need tons of rockabilly clothing to look like a pin up girl.
Even if you wear just simple basics like a pencil skirt, a blouse, stockings and pumps – use accessories (with style) and rock this outfit!

4„Red lips are for kissing!“

Like for any photoshooting, make-up and hairstyling is very important.
Red lips: yes.
Fake lashes and black eyelid line: yes.
Rouge: yes.
But it´s always better to book a professional make-up artist. You´ll see the difference.
You need an instruction how to do the perfect hairstyling?
Try “Vintage Hairstyling“ – I am very happy with this book.

5„Which is you best side?“

Posing, body tension, facial expression…
For this your mirror is a good reviewer.
Use the mirror to practice all this and to feel confident.

6„Smile for me, girl!“

If the picture needs a smile and your face already hurts from smiling – think about something funny and laugh out loud.
Don´t be shy!
Nobody will be surprised during a photoshooting.
A natural smile is always much more charming as a cramped one.

7„Ooops!“

We all know, the “Ooops!”- pose is classic and lovesome.
But you should better have a reason for this.
This advice does apply to panty looser – pictures, too.

8„ The erotic glance and irresistible lips. “

How can I get this “I am yours”- look?
It´s not that easy, I know.

You can try to imagine that you are looking at somebody and you want to tell him with your eyes to do really nasty things with you.

Or (that helps me): look angry. I can´t explain it but if I try to look angry and pissed – I get this erotic expression.

There´s also a trick for your lips.
Close them till you only have a little hole between the lips, you can hardly breathe through.
That makes them full and sexy.
Add lipgloss and you´ve won.

9„Heels or no heels?“

If you are bare-footed or if you only wear stockings and you do a standing pose, you should better stand on your tiptoes!
Imagine you are wearing high heels made of air.

10„I wanna show you…“

Naked skin is sexy. Being naked is sexy, too.
We love to be sexy/naked.
But you should keep your secret, girl!

There are still so much things I want to tell you…
But…at the moment I don´t want to write a book and you girls have to make your own experiences ;)

If you still have a question or need an advice – leave me a comment or write me a mail.
I am glad if I can help you.

Good luck and have fun!

Betty Grable, Marilyn Monroe & Bettie Page – three of the most famous pin up girls.

Being a Pin Up Girl – the beginning

Years ago I had my very first photoshooting.
Then I started to experiment with the pin up style and a bit later, after some tries, I had my first professional one.
Wanna hear this story?

For this photoshooting I went to Cologne to work with Miss Giggles, one of the well-known German pin up artists.
I was really really excited because I loved her work – and I still do.
It was a long trip from Stuttgart. In the middle of the day, it was summer, I arrived in Cologne and Miss Giggles introduced me to Pinky Paradise. She was there to do make-up and hair and to be the second model.
She was more experienced than me, so my little heart was throbbing like hell…

But everyone was very very nice. Pinky did a great styling job and Miss Giggles had already prepared the sets. Happy me, she had a big pool of clothes and lingerie in the studio. My suitcase was full of clothes but at this time I didn’t have the masses you can find in my closet now.

By the way: during the set with the ice skates I destroyed the background paper with the skids – I’m still sorry for that ;)

To cut a long story short…
We had a wonderful day, so much fun and created wonderful pin up pics plus some making-of videos.
For sure, I want to show them to you:

Now you have a little insight how I’ve started to become a Pin Up girl.
I still love this pictures and videos and I like to look at them from time to time.

So thank you Miss Giggles, thank you, Pinky Paradise!

xoxo
